The Before the Crisis: Practical Strategies for Dementia Caregivers
workshop offers family caregivers a supportive, hands-on learning experience focused on preparing for dementia-related challenges before they occur. Held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Pewaukee Public Library, the event features dementia specialist Sherrie Szombathely and occupational therapist Stacey LaFlamme, who will share proactive planning tools, communication approaches, home‑safety strategies, and fall‑prevention techniques to help caregivers feel more confident and prepared.
Attendees will also enjoy complimentary offerings including door prizes, caregiver gift bags, vendors, resource materials, refreshments, chair massages, and a lively sing‑along with vocalist Bill Peterson. The workshop is free and open to all family caregivers, made possible by Dementia Friendly Pewaukee and the GFWC Woman’s Club of Pewaukee.
