Family Caregivers Educational Workshop

Family Caregivers are invited to learn real-life strategies to maintain their own well-being while caring for their loved one with dementia. Receive helpful tips and valuable resources including:

• Relief from Caregiving

This free event is made possible by Dementia Friendly Pewaukee, GFWC Woman’s Club of Pewaukee and the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Waukesha County. Guest speakers include Jill Compton, a local expert in mindfulness and meditation, Rachel Watkins-Petersen, Project Manager with Respite Care Association of Wisconsin (RCAW), Kathy Glaser, dementia care specialist from the ADRC of Waukesha County, and other professionals who will provide valuable insight and resources. Carers will learn about getting respite or much-needed relief from full-time family caregiving for loved ones with dementia, and will gain knowledge about how to create a good support team of family, friends, support groups, and more to prevent burnout and ease the burden of family caregiving.
